If you love good food (and especially good cheese like I do being a former Wisconsin cheese head!), Eataly Boston is one of the best places to visit during your first trip to the city. My friend and I wanted a unique experience while working in Boston and made a point to visit Eataly due to our love of Italian food. Eataly instantly became one of my favorite food experiences in the city. Easy to Get to—Right off the T (the MBTA to you non-Bostonians)

Here is the great news as a first-time visitor to Boston. Eataly is located inside the Prudential Center, which makes it incredibly convenient to visit and accessible by public transportation.

If you’re staying downtown or anywhere along the Green Line, just hop on the T and get off at Prudential MBTA Stop. You’ll walk straight inside the Prudential Center, and Eataly is impossible to miss.

Fresh lemons and raisins on the vine are artfully displayed at Eataly in Boston, inviting shoppers to explore a vibrant selection of produce.

It’s the perfect stop if you’re exploring Back Bay, doing some shopping, or simply looking for something delicious between meetings (in my case—a full workweek of meetings!). A Dream for Food Lovers

Whether you want to shop for specialty Italian groceries, grab a quick bite, or enjoy a sit-down meal, Eataly has something for every kind of foodie. Think: handmade pasta, imported olive oils, pastries, wine, and more. It truly feels like stepping into a bustling Italian marketplace. I especially loved the display of fresh lemons and raisins still on the vine! The Cheese Counter Blew Me Away

Hands down, the highlight of my visit was the cheese counter. This cheese counter was a cheese-lovers paradise.

We walked up just as a cheesemonger was making fresh mozzarella. Watching them stretch the curds right in front of us was mesmerizing.

We tried several cheeses I had never even heard of, each one creamier and more flavorful than the last. It was one of those simple but unforgettable travel moments where the staff’s passion made the experience feel special. And the best part? They offered us samples—multiple samples. I really wish I had written down the samples we had tried!

Why Eataly Is a Great Stop for First-Time Visitors to Boston

If you’re exploring the city and wondering what to do (especially in Back Bay), Eataly is:

  • Easy to get to via the T. Just get off at the Prudential stop.

  • Perfect for lunch or dinner - they have several restaurants inside the store to enjoy. Make sure to Book a Table!

  • Great for grabbing souvenirs, like chocolates, cookies, olive oils, or pasta

  • Ideal for rainy days when you want an indoor activity. We avoided being drenched in a rainstorm by staying inside and enjoying the delights of Eataly!

  • A paradise for food lovers - hands down a wonderful place to grab a light snack to take to Boston Common for a picnic

You can spend 20 minutes walking through the marketplace—or two hours if you sit down for a meal and wander through every section like we did.

Whether you’re in Boston for work, on a weekend getaway, or visiting for the first time, Eataly Boston is a fun, delicious, and incredibly convenient stop to add to your itinerary. I left talking about the cheese counter for days—and honestly, I’d go back just for another visit to the cheese counter!
